Disappointed Films: 2014

Telugu Film Industry has witnessed huge disasters this year along with some massive hits. The movies which failed to reach the expectations in 2014 are :

1-Nenokkadine:  Superstar Mahesh tested his luck with 1-Nenokkadine which has been critically acclaimed by the movie lovers however the movie failed miserably at the box-office. Kriti Sanon played the female lead and talented director Sukumar helmed the project. 14 Reels Entertainments produced the film after a super hit like Dhookudu with Mahesh.

Paisa:  After several delays, Nani’s Paisa hit the screens finally but could not become a paisa vasool film. Creative Director Krishna Vamsi directed the movie but a bad narration with a routine plot made the movie fall down. Catherine Tresa is the heroine and Sai Kartheek composed the music for Paisa.

Anaamika: Sensible director Sekhar Kammula who is the king of multiplexes has tried to remake a Bollywood blockbuster Kahaani in Telugu and Tamil with Anaamika. The movie could not even get minimum openings and failed to impress the audience. Nayanathara and Vaibhav Reddy played the main leads in the movie. MM Keeravani composed the music.

Autonagar Surya: Naga Chaitanya who is on success track with Thadaka came back with a mass entertainer Autonagar Surya. Prasthanam fame Deva Katta directed the movie which ended as a disaster among Naga Chaitanya’s movies. Anup Rubens composed the music for Autonagar Surya.

Galipatam: Aadi who received good recognition with movies like Prema Kavali and Lovely has been back with Galipatam which has been produced by talented director Sampath Nandi and the movie has been directed by Naveen Gandhi. The movie failed badly at the box-office despite of huge publicity made for the movie.

Sikander: Super talented actor Suriya has been with his latest movie Sikander directed by top director Linguswamy. The movie released with huge expectations and ended as a debacle. Lack of proper content and inefficient direction made Sikander end up as a disaster. Samantha played the female lead and Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. The movie has been produced by Lagadapati Sridhar.

Rabhasa: Young Tiger NTR who has been out of success track has tested his luck with Rabhasa. The movie released without expectations and a bad script along with a confusing screenplay made the movie find its place in the list of debacles. Santhosh Srinivas directed the film and Bellamkonda Suresh produced Rabhasa. Thaman has scored the music for Rabhasa.

Aagadu: Superstar Mahesh has tested his luck for the second time in 2014 but unfortunately, he tasted the same result. Aagadu released with huge expectations and a predictable plot along with some repeated comedy tracks made the audience irritated. Aagadu ended as one of the biggest flops in the career of Mahesh Babu. Tamannah played the female lead role and Thaman composed the music.

Govindhudu Andarivadele: Ramcharan who scored a decent hit with Yevadu in the start of the year came back with Govindhudu Andarivadele. Creative director Krishna Vamsi directed the film which could not make any impact on the audience during the holiday season. The movie had repeated family drama and boring narration which made the movie below average. Kajal played the female lead and Bandla Ganesh produced the film.

Oka Laila Kosam: Akkineni Nagarjuna has taken lot of care and produced a movie with Naga Chaitanya titled Oka Laila Kosam which could not impress the audience. The movie has been directed by Vijay Kumar Konda and lack of content in the second half could not save the movie. Pooja Hegde played the female lead and Anup Rubens composed the music.

Current Theega: Manchu Manoj has been back after a huge gap with Current Theega. The movie made huge noise before its release but could not make enough noise post the release of the film. A routine and predictable plot is the reason for the audience to reject the film. Rakul Preet Singh played the female lead and Nageshwar Reddy directed the movie. The music composed by Achu topped the music charts.

Erra Bus: Dasari Narayana who tested his hands in direction after many years received a very bad result from the audience. His movie Erra Bus starring Manchu Vishnu and Catherine has been rejected badly and the movie failed to collect the minimum amounts at the ticket windows. The movie has been produced by Dasari Narayana Rao and Chakri composed the music.

Lingaa: Superstar Rajinikanth has been back to mainstream cinema with Lingaa which has released with huge expectations on Rajini’s birthday. The movie could not reach the expectations and it has left the distributors in huge losses. Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha played the female leads in Lingaa which has been directed by KS Ravikumar. AR Rahman composed the music and Rockline Venkatesh produced Lingaa.

Mukunda: Mega Prince Varuntej made his debut with Varuntej and the movie failed to reach the expectations. Slow narration and a unusual script lacking commercial elements is the reason for the movie to be a debacle. Sreekanth Addala directed the movie and Tagore Madhu, Nallamalapu Bujji produced Mukunda. Varuntej received good response for his stunning sceen presence and his body language.

Chinnadana Nekosam: Young actor Nithin who has scored back to back hits with Isqh, Gundey Jaari Gallanthayyindey and Heart Attack has been back with Chinnadana Nekosam which fetched him bad result. The second of the movie is a huge let down which ended the movie below average. Talented director A Karunakaran directed the movie and Nithin’s home banner Sresht Movies produced the film.
