The Concept of Uttama Villan

Kamal Haasan has penned the script for his latest film Uttama Villan in which he plays a dual role. The Direction has been handed over to his friend Ramesh Aravind who is a familiar face to South Indian Cinema. Revealing the main concept and theme of the film Ramesh Aravind has explained about Uttama Villan. The movie is based on an art called Theyyam which is popular in Kerala and is close to 1000 years old. Theyyam has been used as per the content and it has not been copied. This art has been a Traditional and Ritaul Art which has been worshipped in Kerala.

“It was Kamal who suggested Theyyam and the whole unit in their way started working on Theyyam and then we have collectively brainstormed it and developed it in a traditional form and that is how Uttama Villan script has been prepared out from. Kamal Haasan will be seen practicing Theyyam in one of the role in which he plays an eighth century drama artist.  The film’s first motion poster that features Kamal has his face painted in Theyyam art form. The film will have immense thrills and will stun everyone”. Uttama Villan is directed by Ramesh Aravind and it has been produced Thirupathi Brothers and Kamal Haasan’s Rajkamal Films. Andrea and Pooja Kumar are playing the female leads in the movie. Uttama Villan movie is slated for release on November 7th on the eve of Kamal Haasan’s birthday.
