Creature 3D Explores a new Form of Fear

Vikram Bhatt is back to scare the audience with Creature 3D starring Bipasha Basu and Imran Abbas Naqvi. And this time around, his supernatural thriller revolves around a character - Brahmarakshas, which has its roots in Indian mythology. According to lore, a man who has vowed to devote his life to God but misuses his knowledge for evil deeds, is cursed to suffer as a Brahmarakshas after his death. Depicted as a giant animal-like creature, it is believed to be so powerful that very few can overcome its force. So inspired was Vikram by this mythological creature that he decided to bring it alive on the big screen. The 3D sci-fi thriller, produced by Bhushan Kumar, traces the lead characters as they find a way to kill the animal, who has been alive for 400 years.

Of course, giving shape to the creature was an arduous process. The director drew references from various sources and sketched over thousand prototypes. He even showed these sketches to his team and they finally zeroed in on one, which he had developed over a period of three months. Vikram put in as much effort to ensure that the 3D effects of the film were up to the mark. A specialized VFX team, based in Chennai, has worked on the visual effects of the movie. Not only that, the filmmaker has specially used the Dehumaniser software to lend an authentic feel to the effects and sounds of the creature. Creature 3D, produced by T-Series, releases today.
