If grapevine is to be believed then a film on India's captain cool MS Dhoni was underway. A biopic on India's most successful cricket captain, the film was to be directed by Neeraj Pandey of 'A Wednesday' fame. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput who showed his love for the sport in his debut film 'Kai Po Che' was supposed to play Dhoni. According to a Mumbai Mirror report dated September 5, 2014 the successful cricket player demanded Rs 40 crores for the rights to make a film on his life.

However, there is a spoiler here. The BCCI intervened and made it clear that a biopic on the life of MS Dhoni cannot be made while he is still playing cricket professionally. They said only when he retires can his life story be shown as a biopic on screen. While, Dhoni now remained unavailable for the comment. The sources say that as of now the biopic will be kept on hold. There are rumours that the biopic may not become a film as Dhoni has been expecting such huge amount and so as of now the movie has been shelved.
