Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is busy with multiple projects, is all set to star in an unusual film titled 'Airlift'. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, this film will focus on the real life stories of biggest human evacuation in history in which Indians were evacuated from Kuwait after the country was invaded by the Iraqis way back in 1990. Akshay will play a wealthy and a powerful Indian businessman named Ranjit Katyal in this film. The latest news on this is actress Nimrat Kaur, the lead of the critically acclaimed ‘Lunchbox’, is paired opposite Akshay.

This story was conceived by Raja Krishna Menon and developed it with the help of Nikhil Advani. This thriller will be co-produced by Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Hope, T-Series and Emmay Entertainment and is slated to go on floors in April 2015. Akshay  is currently busy in South Africa where he is shooting for the dance reality show ‘Dare to Dance’. The actor is also busy shooting for his upcoming film ‘Shaukeen’ and ‘Baby’.
