Brace up all you comedy fans! You favorite slapstick - the cult classic "Andaz Apna Apna" - is all set to get a sequel after 19 long years. Yes, you heard that right!

Director Rajkumar Santoshi had been apparently mulling over the thought for long. Initially, the director panned the idea believing that it would be impossible to recreate the same rib-tickling characters of Amar and Prem without Aamir Khan and Salman Khan on board. The two, we hear, are unable to commit owing to their jam-packed schedules.

However, after years of wait, Santoshi seems to have finally found his new-age Amar and Prem and a contemporary storyline too.

A little birdie has tipped that Santoshi  has moved on from the Khans and is betting on the new age Kapoors. He is apparently eying Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor  to reprise the historic roles.

A source close to the production said: "Although Rajji ideally wants to do the film with Aamir and Salman, he is keeping his options open. Since it has almost become an impossible task to get combination dates from the two, Rajji might go ahead with Ranbir and Shahid - who are both young and commercially viable."

However, no official announcement has been made yet. When contacted, Santoshi said, "It's very early for me to take the call on the actors. I am still in the process of putting together the script, so wouldn't like to comment on the casting of Andaz Apna Apna 2."
