Director Yuvaraj Bose's Irumbu Kuthirai, produced by AGS Entertainment, has caught the attention of film buffs not only because its trailers are slick, but also because the film has a theme that hasn't been explored in Tamil films before. The film, which has actor Atharvaa in the lead, revolves around bike racing. Talking about the film, Atharvaa says, "This film is about two groups of bikers who compete with each other. Initially, I play a pizza delivery boy in this film, which is set in the Pondicherry and Mahe regions. However, we also shot extensively in Italy for the film, which is a classy commercial entertainer".

The film, which is based on a real-life incident, will feature some action-packed bike racing sequences. Atharvaa, in particular, had to undergo training by a team of experts from Italy for some of the sequences as the races feature extremely powerful superbikes. Atharvaa said “For a certain sequence, I had to ride the superbike at 180kmph and that too, without glasses. My eyes started watering when we hit 80kmph. Also, the weather there was freezing as we shot this sequence in Italy in November”.
