Best of Tollywood: 2014

Tollywood had a tough time in 2014 as many of the expected films failed to stand out before the audience. Some of the movies which impressed the audience in 2014 are as follows:

Yevadu: Ramcharan after a huge gap came up for Sankranthi 2014 with Yevadu which has been postponed several times. The movie registered the first success of 2014. Sruthi Haasan, Amy Jackson played the female leads and Allu Arjun, Kajal Agarwal played the other important roles. The movie has been directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju. Yevadu collected decent money at the box-office.

Legend: Nandamuri Balakrishna who has been lacking down tested his luck with Legend and registered a massive hit at the box-office. The movie has been directed by Boyapati Srinu who directed Simha with Balakrishna in the past. Balakrishna entertained with his double role before the elections and the audience voted for the movie. Sai Korrapati’s Vaarahi Chalana Chitra and 14 Reels Entertainments produced the movie.

Race Gurram: Allu Arjun who is running high in his career had his biggest hit till date with Race Gurram. The movie released for summer and ruled out the box-office during the summer. Allu Arjun, Sruthi Haasan have entertained the audience and the direction of Surendar Reddy, Thaman’s rocking music made the movie stand on the top. Nallamalapu Srinivas (Bujji) is the producer.

Manam: Akkineni family’s dream project and multistarrer Manam has entertained the audience hilariously because of the poetic narration and the presence of three generations of Akkineni family Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. The movie has been directed by Vikram Kumar and Shriya, Samantha played the female leads. The music by Anup Rubens topped the music charts all over.

Oohalu Gusagusaladey: Versatile actor Srinivas Avasarala has tested his hands in direction with Oohalu Gusagusaladey starring Naga Shourya and Rashi Khanna in the main leads. The movie has touched the multiplex audience because of the sensible comedy along with the romantic narration. Sai Korrapati produced the movie and Kalyan Koduri composed the music.

Drushyam: Victory Venkatesh played safe with a remake titled Drishyam which was the remake of Malayalam blockbuster with the same name and the movie fetched the same result as in Malayalam. Venkatesh’s simple and heart touching action impressed everyone along with the other characters doing their jobs. Suresh Babu produced the film on Suresh Productions and Sri Priya is the director.

Run Raja Run: Talented actor Sharwanand who always made different films far from the commercial line tasted his first commercial success in his career of 10 years with Run Raja Run. The movie minted huge money at the ticket window and Sharwanand has impressed everyone as a lover boy in the movie. Sujeeth made his debut as director and Gibran scored the music. UV Creations produced Run Raja Run.

Geethanjali: Talented writer Kona Venkat who scored super hits has tried his luck in production with Geethanjali along with penning his own script. Anjali played the main lead and Srinivas Reddy has been seen in an important role. The movie collected excellent figures and Anjali’s performance along with some rib tickling comedy made the movie a hit film.

Power: Mass Raja Ravi Teja became selective in his career and he has been back on screen with Power. KS Ravindra (Bobby) made his debut as director and as the name suggests, the audience gave Ravi Teja a powerful hit. Hansika and Regina played the female leads in the film which has been produced by Rockline Venkatesh.

Loukyam: Gopichand who is struggling in his career tried his luck with a comedy genre movie Loukyam which emerged as the biggest hit in his career. The movie has been made on a budget of 7 crores and the movie made 25 crores in its final run. Rakul Preet Singh played the female lead and the movie has been directed by Srivaas. V Anand Prasad produced Loukyam on Bhavya Creations.

Karthikeya: Nikhil who has scored a solid hit with Swamy Ra Ra came back after 1 year with Karthikeya which made huge noise at the box-office. The romantic comedy thriller has been superb throughout with some stunning suspence and sensible comedy. Karthikeya collected huge money which has been directed by Chandu Mondeti and Sekhar Chandra composed the music for Karthikeya.

Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham: Megastar Chiranjeevi’s nephew Sai Dharam Tej made his debut with Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham which received good applause all over for Sai DharamTej’s performance and the different narration of a regular script. AS Ravikumar Chowdary directed the movie and Dil Raju, Allu Aravind produced the movie. Jagapathi Babu impressed with his character in the film.

Na Bangaru Thalli: Na Bangaru Thalli has won awards and applause all round the world and the movie has been released with the public funding. The movie carried a strong social message which has been told in an interesting way. Na Bangaru Thalli has been directed by Rajesh Touchriver. Siddhique, Anjali Patil, Lakshmi Menon and Neena Kurup played the main leads in the movie which has impressed the movie lovers.

Ala Ela: Rahul Ravindran who has received good recognition with Andala Rakshasi scored a hit after a long gap with Ala Ela. The refreshing story with some smooth entertainment along with feel good music and stunning photography made the movie to have a place among the hit movies. Aneesh Krishna is the director and Akshok Kumar produced the movie. Bheems composed the music and Vennela Kishore, Shaani, Heebah Patel, Khushi played the other important roles.
