How to Prevent Fashion don'ts

Most women, when pressed, will admit to having made at least one big fashion mistake. It can even be funny to look back and shudder or wince when you see the photographic evidence. But this is not something you want to turn into a habit. There are times when a mistake with your choice of clothing can cost you. For example, Mail Online states that the way a person dresses for an interview really does affect the outcome. You don't have to compromise your own look or style, but there are certain mistakes you should avoid.

1. Avoid showing too much bare flesh. You can get away with this if you are very slim and very young; otherwise, it will make you look cheap. Do not wear a low-cut top with a short skirt. Avoid, particularly, the "muffin top." This is the unflattering term for a roll of flesh hanging out over the top of your pants. This happens when your pants are too tight and your shirt, T-shirt or sweater is too short.

2.Dress to suit your figure. It is possible to look good if you are overweight, but not if your clothes are too tight. Buy a full-length mirror and have an honest look at yourself, from every angle, before leaving the house. Jeans that are too skinny or tight leggings emphasize every spare inch or pound. Buy a larger size, even if it irritates you to do so. You will look better.

3.Avoid over-dressing for an informal event, or looking too casual at a formal function. Of the two errors, dressing too casually at a formal event is probably the worse. Check what the invitation says before you decide what to wear. If in doubt, call the host.

4. Avoid badly cut clothing made of cheap fabric. I can lose its shape with wear. Instead, shop at the sales, or even in thrift shops, for classics that keep their shape and age well. Check your clothing and repair or discard pants that have become baggy or worn at the knees and ripped or frayed items.
