Chennai 600028 gets International Recognition

Venkat Prabhu's Chennai 600028 has now received an international hounour as it has been listed among the five most memorable cricketing moments in cinema by Birtish daily The Guardian. The other movies in the list are The Lady Vanishes, Lagaan, Hope and Glory and I know how many runs you scored last summer.

The director's debut is about friendship, love, and cricket. Set in modern-day Chennai, and with an intense rivalry between two suburban teams called the musical-worthy Sharks and the Rockers, the film has a brilliant build-up scene introducing the hero, who is moving into the area of his hated rivals. The movie starred Jai, Shiva, Vaibhav, Nithin Sathya, Aravind Akash, Vijay Vasanth, Vijayalakshmi and Premji Amaren in the lead roles, while Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the film.
