Jiiva’s Yaan Trailer Review

Jiiva starrer Yaan's official trailer is out. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran who has picturised many hits in Hindi and Tamil cinema (Dil Chahta Hai, Black, Minsaara Kanavu and Kandukondain Kandukondain) is readying for his first directorial venture, a Tamil film called Yaan. Yaan, loosely translating to mean 'me' in Tamil has Jiiva essaying a role which sees the actor move from being college youngster to a man of purpose. Starring popular actor Thulasi Nair as the female lead, the trailer begins with typical commercial cinema style romance brewing and blossoming between the lead pair. In this section, romance being the dominant mood, there's mirth, colour and fun in equal measure.

In quick succession, though, the plot moved to rough terrain as Jiiva is caught in what appears to be a terror game. Soon enough it travels to foreign lands as Jiiva's character is taken captive. Trailing him is his lady love, Thulasi and once together they must run for their lives.Next we see Jiiva's character in khakhi and what ensues thereafter is a cat and mouse game between cops and terrorists. The trailer has a prominent Bollywood character actor Nawab Shah playing the baddie.

Needless to say the production quality is top-notch. The ace cinematographer has roped in some of the best in the craft of filmmaking such as Harris Jayaraj (music), Sabu Cyril (art direction), Oscar winner Resul Pookutty (sound mixing) and Brindha (choreography). The film has been shot in multiple locations - Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Morocco, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Iceland.
