Karan Johar’s film on Dhyanchand

Bollywood has got the fever of sports biopics these days. Last year Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milka Bhaag has caught the attention and has been appreciated. The movie went on to collect huge money at the box-office. This year Priyanka Chopra has knocked with the biopic of boxer Mary Kom titled the same name which won the critics appreciation. The movie managed to collect good money. Now after that the biopic on Indian cricket captain Mahendar Singh Dhoni is on cards now. The movie has been in pre production stages and the shoot will start early next year. Sushant Singh Rajput will play the main lead in the film which will be directed by Neeraj Pandey.

Now Karan Johar has joined the race and he has chosen Indian Hockey Legend Dhyanchand. Karan Johar confirmed the news posting on twitter saying “My friends Pooja...Aarti Shetty and I are honoured and proud to have the rights to tell the story of the legendary sportsman # DHYANCHAND...". More details about the cast and the crew to be revealed soon. Dhyanchand played hockey scoring over 400 goals and his career spanned from 1926-1948. Let’s wait for further updates on this project.
