Asura Story

Dharma Teja (Nara Rohit) is a responsible jailer who fights against the criminals in the society. He doesn’t care about the rules written and he follows his own rules. He has a girl friend Priya Benarjee who is the only one left in this world. He comes across a critical case of Charlie (Ravi Varma) who has been sentenced to death. Charlie tries to escape from the sentence while Dharma tries to close all the available options. The rest of the film is who wins in this race, Dharma or Charlie? Watch the film to know about the rest.

Asura Analysis :

Nara Rohit's Asura Telugu Movie Review

The first half of the movie starts with slow narration and it picks pace slowly. The movie gets interesting after the introduction of Charlie and the pre interval episodes have been narrated well. The songs have been decent and on the whole the complete first half has been decent with impressive dialogues and Rohit’s packed performance.

The second half starts interesting but dips slowly. When a ship starts sinking, you will not know until it sinks completely. This happens exactly in the second half. The narration has been clumsy and it has not been taken care of. The action episodes does not look natural and the pre climax twist has not been narrated in an engaging way. On the whole the second half of the film lacks proper narration which leads to a down fall.

Asura Performance :

Nara Rohit who proved his acting skills has done a decent work in Asura. He has been energetic and terrific all around which elevated the feel to the needed levels. At the same time he looked too bulky in the movie which is sure Rohit should think of seriously. Priya Benarjee has been completely restricted to songs and she rarely had a chance to showcase her skills. Ravi Varma delivered an outstanding performance as Charlie and Asura will sure mark his comeback film as an actor. All the others have been decent for their assigned characters.

The story of the movie sounds interesting at parts. The screenplay and the narration in the first half have been good but they fail completely in the second half. The dialogues have been sensible at parts. The music has been ok and the background score has been impressive. The cinematography and editing should be given credits. The production values have been donw the line and the movie shows that it had been made on a restricted and minimal budget. The director failed to impress the audience as he lacked an interesting narration in the second half.

Final Word:

Asura has some well written dialogues and decent performance by Nara Rohit. But these alone cannot save the film. No entertainment and slow paced narration spoils the interest on the film. Can be ignored.
