Dongaata Story

Dongaata is the story of an actress Sruthi (Manchu Lakshmi) who has been planned for kidnap. Three guys (Adivi Sesh, Madhu and Prabhakar) are the guys who are involved in the kidnap. Brahmi (Brahmanandam) is a private detective who has been hired to investigate the matter without media and the public knowing the matter as Sruthi is a well known actress. The real suspense reveals when Brahmi gets arrested as Sruthi has been kept safe in his flat. The rest of the movie is how Sruthi gets back the money which has been offered to the kidnappers.

Dongaata Analysis :

Dongaata Movie Review

The first half of the movie has loads of entertainment with fun going sequences. The entire cast has been selected perfect and the song has shot fantastic. On the whole the first half has been decent except some predictable episodes.

The second half of the film dips down because of the emotional content which could not make the magic. The film picks back the pace but the comic episodes really needed some gripping narration which were missing. The movie gets interesting in the last 20 minutes and the climax has been decent. On the whole the second half has been just ok.

Dongaata Performance :

Manchu Lakshmi who proved herself as an actress has done a fantastic role in the movie. She has been reserved, cool, naughty, energetic and stood up to her expectations. Adivi Sesh has been terrific on screen and he has lot to achieve. Madhu and Prabhakar are sure the back bones of the film and delivered some commanding performance. Brahmanandam and Prudhvi have been decent and all others have done their assigned jobs.

The story of the movie has nothing new inside to reveal, but what makes it interesting is the crime comedy. The movie had some real gripping narration at times and it even dipped down badly in the second half. The crisp one-liners have been decent. The music and the background score need special mention for sure. The cinematography and the editing have been worth praising. The production values have been grand enough and the director has been partially successful in delivering a decent product.

Final Word:

Dongaata is a decent crime comedy. But the dipped and dragged second half makes the difference. You can give it a try for sure.
