Kathir’s Next Film

Actor Kathir, who made his debut in the action-drama Madha Yaanai Kootam, is now working on his next, titled Kirumi. The film has been directed by newcomer Anu Charan, who made a few short films in Australia earlier. Talking about the film, Kathir says, "I met Anu Charan through another director. Kirumi is a thriller, a story about a youngster and how certain incidents that he comes across change the course of his life. What I really liked about the script was that the treatment was very realistic, be it the dialogues or the way in which the film has been shot, everything is something you can see in day-to-day life. It is a different attempt”.
Reshmi Menon plays the female lead and Charlie plays a pivotal role in the film. "The film is shot in and around Chennai, largely in Kasimedu, to be precise. So, I had to do some ground work on people who live there. We were there for a month, observing their body language. I was also training under Muthu Kumar from Koothu-P-Pattarai for my role. It was a quite a learning experience for me," signs off Kathir.
