Wait! Before you drop whatever you are holding in hand in utter shock, know that the uber-talented Kalki Koechlin is defying her sexual orientation only for a movie.

The actress will play a lesbian suffering from cerebral palsy for director Shonali Bose's “Margarita, With A Straw.”

Her lady-love in the movie will be city girl Sayani Gupta,whose last outing was the delectably surreal movie “Q's Tasher Desh.” She plays the role of a blind woman in the movie.

Actress-director Revathi has been roped in to play Kalki's mother. The movie will also star Hollywood actor William Moseley aka Peter Pevensie in “The Chronicles of Narnia.”

A source revealed, "The film deals with disability. Kalki plays Laila, who falls in love repeatedly and yearns for physical love. The movie will have a world premiere by the end of this year."

Confirming the news, Kalki said, "I'm playing a lesbian, but the film is not so much about being 'a lesbian'. It's about a girl with cerebral palsy, who explores her sexuality and comes to terms with it. She falls in love easily and there's awkwardness about her since she doesn't know what sex is and how to interact with the one she admires. It's hard enough for any of us to come to terms with sexuality, and when one is disabled, there's an extra barrier of low self-esteem. The film explores whether Laila's bisexual, gay or heterosexual. The film also deals with nudity, but it has been shot aesthetically."
