Calendar Girls Analysis :

Calendar Girls Movie Review

The first half of the movie takes off with some interesting narration about the girls who are in process of becoming models. The movie takes a dip because of the funny episodes that miss the reality. Some of the scenes have been shot well and explain about the struggles of the models. On the whole the first half of the film ends on a dull and disappointing note.

The second half of the movie too carries the same theme. The movies dips badly during the narration as the movie lacks proper content. The characters have been completely senseless and they have not been related well. The director completely tried to portray the celebrity’s obsession on social media which was not convincing. On the whole the complete second half is a huge downfall.

Calendar Girls Performance :

All the lead actresses Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Kyra Dutt, Ruhi Singh and Satarupa Pyne  have delivered a stupendous performance with their assigned roles. They have been surprisingly good in some of the scenes. All the other actors have been decent. You will genuinely laugh a few times when the tech-savvy Ruhi Singh asks continuously for selfies only to instantly upload them on Twitter. His character is the only saving point of the film that makes a little sense.

The story of the movie is new and wonderful to narrate however the bad execution along with a bad screenplay made the film fall completely flat. The background music has been quite slow which made the film even worst. The visual effects have been completely low in quality and the cinematography has been decent. The production values have been decent and director Madhur Bhandarkar failed completely in narrating an interesting angle in the lives of Calendar Girls.

Final Word:

Calendar Girls is a complete misfire from Madhur Bhandarkar and it can be completely ignored for its unrealistic execution.
