Shah Rukh’s Raees Official Release Date

Bollywood’s top actor Shah Rukh Khan has been continuing his series of debacles and his recent outing Fan has been declared as an average grosser all over. This Maneesh Sharma directorial fell short of expectations though Shah Rukh Khan impressed with his outstanding performance in the roles of Aryan Khanna and Gaurav. Made on a budget of Rs 85 crores, the movie grossed Rs 160 crores across the world.

He wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming movie Raees and the movie has been directed by Rahul Dholakia. The makers initially wanted to release the movie during Eid this year however Salman Khan’s Sultan is making for release during Eid after which SRK decided not to clash with Sultan. He has been disappointed with the result of Fan and is quite careful about Raees release date. With all the holiday seasons packed with releases this year, he decided to move out for next year. He issued an official statement about the release date.

The statement reads: “It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that Raees is highly anticipated. However, a film of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January, 2017.” – Ritesh Sidhwani, Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar.
