Fitoor: Biggest Debacle of 2016

Bollywood expanded its business vastly and the budget limitations have reached huge heights. While most of them reach safe zone when stars play crucial roles but there are debacles that even stars can’t pull out.

Last year Ranbir Kapoor’s Bombay Velvet turned out to be the biggest debacle in the recent times. Anurag Kashyap directed the movie and Fox Star Studios produced the film along with Phantom.

Abhishek Kapoor who scored back to back shattering hits with Rock On and Kai Po Che has been in plans to adopt Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations. While many leading studios backed up, it was UTV Motion Pictures which supported the director’s idea.

The movie has been titled Fitoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor, Katrina Kaif played the lead roles. Made on a budget of Rs 70 crores, the movie failed to even get minimum occupancy on the day of its release. The collections dropped down every single day and trade analysts revealed that the makers will lose more than Rs 40 crores. This is the biggest debacle in the recent times.
