ANR Lives On

Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been the legend and a pillar for Telugu film industry. He has been introduced to Telugu cinema in 1941 with Dharmapathni and he has established himself as one of the best actors of Tollywood. ANR has introduced the flavor of romance to telugu cinema and he has given immense contribution to cinema. His movies like Devadas, Dasara Bullodu and Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu have fetched him critical acclaim along with many huge hits. He has been a legendary actor because of his mythological roles along with massive characters which made him reach all the kinds of audience.

NTR and ANR have been called the two eyes of Telugu cinema which can describe the contribution of ANR to Tollywood. ANR was the best dancer among his generation and his dance movements are still popular. He has done many memorable movies in his career which left him alive in the hearts of the audience. His son Akkineni Nagarjuna took his legacy in acting and it has been carried further by his grandsons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil. He has been awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for his achievement in Indian cinema. He has breathed his last on January 22nd 2014 and remembering this legend on his first death anniversary.
