Super talented director Krish scored a massive hit with Gautamiputra Satakarni which released during Sankranthi this year. Directed by Krish, the movie has been made on a massive budget and is shot in record number of working days. Balakrishna played the lead role. The director received exceptional response for his directorial work after which he decided to work on a periodic drama with his next. He has movies with Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh and Kalyanram in hands.

Krish is all set to direct the biopic of warrior queen Rani Laxmibhai and the movie has been titled Manikarnika. Bollywood actress Kangna Ranaut has been asked to play the lead role and the actress signed the film on spot. She is specially trained currently for the film in horse riding and sword fighting for the film. The movie is in final stages of pre-production and the regular shoot of the movie will start later this year. The first sketch of Kangna as Jhansi Laxmibhai has been released. A leading Bollywood production house will bankroll the project.
