Akkineni’s handsome young lad Akhil Akkineni made his debut with Akhil however the movie ended up as a massive disappointment. Before the second film of the actor shaped up, he got engaged to Shriya Bhupal with whom he fell in love months ago. Shriya happened to be the granddaughter of business tycoon GVK Reddy. With the approval of their parents, the duo got engaged in a grand affair on December 9th and the wedding has been planned to take place during summer this year.

With less than three months of their engagement, there have been speculations doing rounds that the wedding has been called-off. Akkineni’s and the GVK’s stayed tightlipped despite of the speculations and the real reasons behind the decision have been unknown. A leading daily narrated that the guests who already locked their tickets for the destination wedding of Akhil and Shriya in Italy have asked to cancel. On the other side Akhil is gearing up for the shoot of his second movie in the direction of Vikram Kumar from March.
