Top actress Anushka has been the main consideration for woman centric films and she has signed to play the lead role in Rudramadevi. Gunasekhar directed the movie which completed shoot long back. Anushka will surprise as Rani Rudramadevi in the movie and Rana Daggubati, Nithya Menon, Catherine played the other supporting roles. The movie has extensive VFX work which delayed the release of the film several times. Rudramadevi marks the first stereoscopic 3D film in the history of Indian cinema which is made on a budget of Rs 70 crores.

Gunasekhar has recently announced that the movie will hit the screens on October 9th however there have been rumors floating about the release date. The movie has completed the censor formalities today and the movie has been awarded U/A certificate with minor cuts. Allu Arjun will surprise everyone as Gona Gannareddy in the movie and Maestro Ilayaraja composed the music. Gunasekhar produced Rudramadevi on Guna Team Works banner which will release all over in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.
