Experts advise a minimum sleep of seven to eight hours a day but if you are one of those who do not get this much sleep, follow the simple tips mentioned below.

One should maintain a proper sleeping time. This way it helps the body to set biological clock and it makes your sleep better.

If you are having difficulty in sleeping a nights, then start preparing for sleep from the evening.

Avoid doing workout just before you go to sleep.

Avoid exposure to bright lights, as it lowers melatonin levels and your brain’s signal that it is time to go to sleep. Several studies have found an interlink between low melatonin levels and sound sleep.

Avoid consuming carbohydrate-rich meals before bed and caffeine rich drinks. As Caffeine reactivates your brain and hampers sleep.

Even mild body pains can disturb your sleep. Put a pillow between your legs to align your hips better and stress your low back less.

Don’t eat heavy foods and big meals too late. They overload your digestive system, which in turn affects your sleep. Have a light evening snack of cereal with milk or crackers and cheese instead.
