Irfan’s Weight Issues

Actor Irfan is busy balancing his TV and film career. While he is continuously shooting for the television soap Saravannan Meenatchi 2, Irfan also has two films Ru and Pongi Ezhu Manohara in the pipeline. The actor is dealing with a lot of weight issues these days. When asked he said "Ru is an action subject and it required me to beef up. So, I had to put on 12kg for the film. But for Pongi Ezhu Manohara which is a comedy, the director asked me to lose weight. It was quite exhausting managing my weight for both these films."

Talking about these films, he says, "Ru is an out-and-out action film. The film is set in and out of Bangalore. The other is based in Sathyamangalam, near Coimbatore. I play a milkman in the film and was asked to pick up the Coimbatore slang as well. It was pretty tough. But with training, I managed to get the lingo right. I am looking forward to these releases."
