Aditya Chopra apologizes Jisshu Sengupta

Jisshu Sengupta is a popular Bengali actor who was seen recently in Rani Mukerji's 'Mardaani'. For those who have not seen this gripping cop drama, Jisshu played Rani Mukherji’s husband and his role was not very impactful in the narrative and in the gripping screenplay, his character seemed shapeless and incomplete. The latest buzz is that the producer of the film Aditya Chopra called Jisshu and expressed his regret about the way the role had shaped up.

Speaking to a leading portal, Jisshu says, “Initially when I saw myself in the film I was not happy at all. But then I realized the film had shaped up so well and my role had to be sacrificed to make the narrative tight and gripping. The main conflict is between Rani and Tahir Bhasin, and they are both too good. I am just happy to be part of a good film.” Released last Friday, ‘Mardaani’ that is directed by Pradeep Sarkar showcases the fight against human trafficking is getting a good response from the audience. Rani, who played a fierce cop in the film, has been acclaimed for her intense performance while debutant Tahir Bhasin who played the villain has also been acclaimed for his flawless performance as Karan, the kingpin of girl trafficking.
