Irrfan Talks about Leaving Welcome to Karachi

We have reported that the versatile Irrfan Khan who had been associated with Vashu Bhagnani's 'Welcome To Karachi' had backed out at the last moment due to other commitments. The producer claimed that Irrfan has stepped out of the movie in the last minute when the whole unit has landed in London to start the shoot. However, the actor cleared the air saying that he parted ways with the producer due to creative differences. He further added that he had been involved with the film right from the scripting stage when there were no producers. Irrfan is currently busy shooting for many Hindi movies. The shoot of Welcome to Karachi is progressing in London.

Irrfan elaborated, “When Vashuji came on board as the producer, he wanted to start immediately, but I felt we were under-prepared. I suggested we delay the shoot to plan things as it’s a character-based film and needs good actors, who can get the Karachi accent right. But the producer was impatient and wanted to go ahead with the shoot. This attitude prompted me to walk out of the project”. According to sources, Vashu’s son Jackky Bhagnani will replace Irrfan in this comic entertainer. Directed by Ashish Mohan, ‘Welcome To Karachi’ revolves around the journey of two Indians in Karachi.
