Veerappan Story

Veerappan is the story of dangerous and merciless Veerappan who has been a sandalwood smuggler and killed many police officers along with elephants. The movie starts off with a brutal killing of police officers. The movie follows the narration of STF officer Kannan (Sachin Joshi) who takes the responsibility of tracing Veerappan. After several attempts of failure, Kannan targets Muthulakshmi (Usha Jadhav) who happens to be the wife of Veerappan. He seeks the help of Priya (Lisa Ray) who helps Kannan in trapping Muthulakshmi. The rest of the film is how Veerappan falls in the trap and is about the process of nabbing the cold blooded criminal. Watch Veerappan to know about the movie.

Veerappan Analysis :

Veerappan Movie Review

The entire first half of Veerappan has been completely realistic and is interesting throughout. It builds up the story and discusses about the life style of Veerappan which many of them are unaware of. The movie has been shot in realistic locales and Ram Gopal Varma comes back with a bang. The entire first half of Veerappan has been flawless and gripping all around with an interesting interval episode.

The second half of the movie witnesses a slight dip in between but the interest and the suspence has been maintained all over. The performances by the lead actors take the film to the next level all over. The climax brings a huge impact on the audience and Veerappan is a movie that may not appeal to all the sections of audience but it is sure a brave attempt from Ram Gopal Varma and his team. The technical aspects have been stupendous throughout the movie.

Veerappan Performance :

Sandeep Bharadwaj has been perfect in the role of Veerappan and thanks to the makeup artist for the stupendous transformation. The actor has been extremely convincing and he looked exactly like Veerappan. His body language has been apt and is the major highlight of the film. Sachin Joshi has been assigned a challenging role and he excelled in the role of a STF officer in the film. He convinced the audience with his performance which is a treat to watch. Usha Jadhav has been stupendous in the assigned role in the movie. Lisa Ray struggled during the first half, but she did a decent job in the film on the whole. All the other actors have been decent.

The story of Veerappan has been taken from the real incidents from the life of cold blooded criminal Veerappan. The screenplay and the dialogues have been completely gripping all over. The music has been just ok but the background score elevated the film well. The cinematography of Veerappan is said to be the major highlight of the film. The production values have been grand enough and the editing has been crisp. Ram Gopal Varma impresses the audience big time with his realistic direction skills throughout the film.

Final Word:

Veerappan is one of the finest works of Ram Gopal Varma which has many realistic action episodes shot in dense forests of South India. A film that will appeal to a niche class of audience.
