Bajirao Mastani is the story of King Peshwa Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) who has never been defeated in his life in all the 40 wars he has faced. He aims to conquer the whole country after his terrific performance. He falls in love with Mastani (Deepika Padukone) who is the daughter of King of Bundelkhand. Bajirao clashes with his mother (Tanvi Azmi) who opposes his inter caste marriage and also as Bajirao marries Kashibhai (Priyanka Chopra). The first half of the movie has been decent throughout with fresh and energetic performances from the lead actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The grand visuals and the lavish songs have been the major assets of the movie. Though the film dips at times, the first half of the movie has been impressive.

The second half of the film has been quite boring throughout. The director concentrated much on the emotional content rather than on the action episodes. The warrior side of Bajirao has been completely neglected. The second half of the movie has been dragged completely and boring. The climax has been emotional and ends up on a decent note.

Ranveer Singh delivers an outstanding performance with this movie. One will wonder why Ranveer Singh has been chosen for the male lead but his performance will prove it. He has been perfect and outstanding. Deepika Padukone is the other highlight of the film. She has been stupendous on screen and her presence has been magical. Priyanka Chopra has done a decent job with her performance as Kashibhai. All the other actors have been decent with their assigned roles.

The story of the movie has been taken from the life story of Bajirao Mastani. The screenplay and the dialogues have been decent. The cinematography elevated every spent rupee on screen. The music has been ok and so is the background score. The editing has been good and the production values have been grand enough and lavish. Sanjay Leela Bhansali failed to impress the audience as the second half lacked proper narration and gripping content.
