There have been lot of speculations about the male lead in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie Padmavati. Deepika Padukone will essay the title lead in the movie and there have been lot of rumours about the lead actor. It has been heard that Shahid Kapoor and Fawad Khan are the front-runners for the role and after a week of discussions, it has been finalized that Shahid Kapoor will play the lead role.

Shahid will be seen playing Deepika’s husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in Padmavati, a period drama based on Rani of Chittor. Shahid will shoot for 200 days for his role and he is currently growing beard and hair for the character. It has been heard that Shahid will be paid a whopping remuneration for the film as he needs to allot bulk dates for Padmavati. Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films and Eros International will produce the movie which will hit the screens during Christmas 2017.
