Mardaani becomes tax free in Maharashtra

Recently, it was reported that Rani Mukerji has stated that she would be happier if the Maharashtra government would declare ‘Mardaani’ as tax free. The actress had arranged a special screening of this film for the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. It seems that the CM was impressed with this intense cop drama which showcases the fight against human trafficking. On Thursday, Maharashtra government issued orders to make ‘Mardaani’ tax free. This film has already granted a tax free status in MP and UP.

Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, this film features debutant Tahir Bhasin as the baddie. Mardaani that released last Friday is doing well at the box office and now this Yash Chopra production has now collected 24 crores. The hard hitting movie has also become tax free because of its social content that it covers. This film featured Rani in never before avatar as a fierce cop who fights against human trafficking.
